WALLEYE.
Fishing this week was fair to good. Crankbaits such as Reef Runners and Deep Husky Jerks continued to catch fish. Locations to consider:
5 Miles North to Northwest of Huron Lighthouse - This area did produce numbers when water cleaned up.
N 31.5, 29.100 - This location produced “big fish” on Wednesday with fish staged in the top 15 feet of water column with Reef Runners placed 25-35 feet back behind inline boards. Fish up to 13 lbs were reported.
Fishing conditions were generally tough due to water clarity but we should see excellent conditions for this week.
PERCH.
Perch fishing this week was fair to good with some big catches reported in the following locations:
Old Woman’s Creek - In 22 feet of water.
Cranberry Creek East to the Castle - In 27 to 34 feet of water.
North of Huron Lighthouse - In 36 to 39 feet of water. Big Perch came from this area.
BAIT AVAILABILITY - GOOD.

WALLEYE
The this week has been tough due to wind and waves in the afternoon out of the northeast, but expect this weekend’s weather forecast to be excellent. Good locations this week include:
North of the dumping ground in 39 to 42 feet of water. This area produced decent fish, 3 to 5 lbs, with Reef Runner 800 Series Divers. 80 to 120 back on the Inline Board has been working well. Good colors included Fruit Punch, Gold Prism, and Watermelon. Numbers of fish are present but you must stay on them if they are active.
Cranberry Creek west to Old Woman’s Creek is still producing fish on short fat type crank bait such as HotNTot’s and Wigglewart’s in 18 to 24 feet of water.
Offshore N36, W27. There was a good bite pulling crankbaits and worm harnesses.
PERCH
Perch fishing has been steady with a lot of nicer fish being reported.
Huron River north to the channel marker buoys in 24 to 34 feet of water.
Sawmill Creek to the dumping grounds in 27 to 42 feet of water. Bigger fish are present but you must pick through them.
Cooler water temperatures will bring more fish in the weeks ahead and expect it to be excellent. Huron fish cleaning is available at the mouth of the river.
BAIT AVAILABILITY
Bait availability is poor currently. Emerald Shiners are hard to come by this week due to the wind conditions and the full moon. Golden Shiners and Cured and frozen Emerald Shiners are available. Call ahead for bait.

Walleye
Fishing this week was fair to good round Huron with some good fish reported from the following locations.
-Huron Lighthouse west to the Sawmill Humps in 18 to 24 FOW. This area produced with Reef Runner , Deep Rippers, and Hot n Tot programs. Fished 35 to 40 feet back on Inline Boards. Blue, Black, and Silver colors were the best.
-Cranberry Creek area is still producing fish. Trolling this same program. In 16 to 24 FOW.
-Offshore; I personally fished this area Monday and found Crawler Harness to be an excellent choice with all but one fish caught on them. My best colors were Pink and Purple Willow Blades with Chrome Beads pulled behind dipsys at 1.7 MPH. This area is offshore and you should use CAUTION when planning a trip to this location. Location N38 W23 was excellent with numbers of fish ranging from 4 to 6 lbs.
Perch
Perch continue to bite very well with bigger fish showing up in the catch.
Areas to consider
-North of the Red Bouy channel marker in 39 to 40 FOW. This area produced bigger fish this week.
-North East of Green Can 28 to 34 FOW. Produced excellent numbers of fish but smaller on average. Expect these areas to get better with bigger Perch on the way.
Bait Availability Good
-Windy conditions for the weekend should keep fisherman close so fish the Cans out Front and stay safe.
