Perch
Perch overall has been fair to good in the following locations:
- Sawmill Creek to the Dumping grounds. 25 to 34 feet of water. Tend to be smaller fish but there are a lot of them.
- Cranberry Creek to Ruggles Beach. 27 to 34 feet of water. Better size in this location.
- Also, fish the channel buoys in front of the river, these have been good.
Walleye
Walleye fishing has slowed a bit due to the bug hatch but good catches have been made in the following areas:
- Kelley’s Island has been good. Crawler harness’s are working well, bigger fish are in this area. Look for them to push East where they will be infront of Huron. This will be a good spoon bite soon.
- Sawmill has produced fish in 30 feet of water. Drifting weight forwards when you get a good drift.
- Cranberry Creek has been good to fair but better in the afternoons and evenings.
- Vermilion north to the sandbar is getting good. There was a good “bite” Saturday the 13th of June. Small stinger in perch patterns worked well.

AWESOME BITE THIS WEEK

There have been some fantastic catches in the past week real close to the mouth of the Huron River. Most people have switched over to pulling crankbaits with Reef Runners being the most common. Many of the smaller boats are fishing from 1.0 to 1.5 MPH and doing well with leads anywhere from 30 to 70 feet back behind inline boards. Also some great catches by the guys pulling big boards running 1.8 to 2.2 MPH with leads from 60 to 120 back on the Reef Runners. Most boats were fishing the waters just to the West of the Huron River from the Edge of the dumping grounds as far West as Cedar Point.

I just talked to some guys that fished today Thursday Oct 23 out of Huron and also some guys out of Vermilion. There were fish caught out of the same general area that was good last weekend and early this week 34 to 36North and 24 to 25 West. Again a mixture of the high and low programs.
There were also some fish caught to the WEST of the Huron River anywhere from 30 to 42 feet of water between the Huron River and Cedar Point Amusement park.
Water is definitely stained but there are fish inside.
Headed to I5s to meet up with the early arrivals for the Get Together.

Great Fishing continued over this past weekend. The most common areas mentioned were from 33 to 36 North and 24 to 26 West for middle GPS coordinates which is out to the NE off the old Vermilion Dumping Grounds.
There have been many reports from people catching fish very high in the water column with short leads like 25 to 50 feet on Reef Runners and also short leads on Jet Divers & spoons up high, also for the people slow trolling worm harnesses 1 & 2 ounce weights from 20 to 50 feet back have reported great catches.
The other common program has been spoons behind dipseys and jets fished deeper in the water column, size 40 jets from 160 to 200 back and dipseys on a 3 setting from 120 to 140 back.
There are also a lot of fish just West of the Huron River in closer from 30 to 35 feet of water from the old Huron Dumping Grounds to Point Retreat. Not as many people fishing over there but LOTS of fish.
